Marian House Soup Kitchen Sponsorship

An administrative professional in the field of education, Dr. Shirley Miles is a senior consultant at Focal Point LLC, where she aims to enhance the school curricula and student learning. In her spare time, Dr. Shirley Miles attends Perfect Peace Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. Through the organization, she volunteers at the Marian House Soup Kitchen on a monthly basis.

A service provided through the Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, Marian House Soup Kitchen feeds people in need in downtown Colorado Springs. Serving nutritious meals to over 600 people most days, the soup kitchen accommodates veterans, senior citizens on fixed incomes, people from economically challenged areas, and others.

The soup kitchen is made possible through the community’s generous donation of time and funds. Additionally, local organizations and individuals have an opportunity to sponsor the Marian House Soup Kitchen for $1,500 per day. The sponsorships generate revenue that is vital for recouping the cost of the meals served. Those who opt to sponsor the soup kitchen for a day are recognized in print and digital media, and they are eligible for a 25 percent Colorado State tax credit through the El Paso County Enterprise Zone. Furthermore, by volunteering on the day of their sponsorship, donors can experience firsthand how their contributions impact the community.
